I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Any change in how you look from the pics on page 1?

I'm not entirely sure. I was 262ish in those pics and now I'm about 290 with the same body fat. I imagine there is alot of difference in muscle BUT, I'm sure, the fat is hiding it. Like you can feel alot more muscle under there and my forearms are bigger. My arms and chest are not squishy either(flexed). I claim to be in my bulking phase, but that is just my excuse for eating bad. I really miss the way I felt on the anabolic diet, I had tons more energy and never felt bloated like I do now. Going to be restarting it soon. And sticking to it. I'll update the pics soon. I really want to update the pics this weekend on Sunday, then take a monthly pic while on the anabolic diet.

I know what you mean. It seems like you'll never get there if your over 200lbs. Great numbers Herf, keep up the good work.

Squats-----------135lbs----1x10---210lbs---5x5
Bench press-----145lbs----5x5
1arm DB row-----75lbs----3x5

Squats went well tonight, still not very tough. Kept decent form throughout and went pretty deep. I believe I broke parallel.

Bench was pretty easy still also. The 5th set was a bit shaky but still easily done.

I'm going to keep the rows at 75lbs next time. They are not that hard, but I'm going to up it to 4x5 instead of 3x5.

Started the Anabolic diet today!! I need to lose some fat. This summer is going to kill me at 33.5%ish body fat! Today I ate so far
5 scrambled eggs
2 big chicken drum sticks--grilled
handful of peanuts
1can of tuna with miracle whip--I know its not the best for you.
protein mix with 5g of L-glutamine.
Going to eat 10 chicken wings in about 1.5 hours.

Summer is hard for me to eat alot, I am just not that hungry when it gets this hot outside.

I'll do some pushups when I get home, I'm running late as it is now. Or at the very least, get some prone bridges in.

Glad to see you started the diet. I know what you mean about the heat, it kills my appetite also. I've found that eating cold foods instead of hot helps.

Never thought about that. I'll give it a shot. Thanks sarge. I don't think its quite the heat, but the humidity. I HATE the humidity!

Squats
warmup---------1x10-----------135lbs
actual------------5x5------------215lbs
OHP--------------5x5,4,3,3----125lbs
Deadlift
warmup---------1x7------------135lbs
actual-----------1x5------------215lbs
assisted chin----5,4,4---------120lbs

Squats
Squats were pretty easy again. Monday are the 4 big wheels! 225lbs. I could get that this Friday, but I'm done skipping weights. I have not skipped in a while and I'm not going to do it again. I'm helping some chick move this Friday also and doing squats is going to be a good time...... :|
I noticed a few times I was shifting weight to my toes. I need to get that straightened out ASAP before the weights get really heavy.

OHP
Damn you OHP!! This is my first stall damn it! It is always expected tho, I'll just deload to 115lbs and start over again. I really think its due to my change in diet and lack of calories. I gave up on the last set..I knew it would only be 1 maybe 2.

Deadlifts
The warmup was really easy. The actual weights were not to bad. It is easier to make sure you have good form when you do a lighter warmup. I did get kind of a joy smacking them off the floor every rep. Does that make me a meathead? :?

I find that after doing a hard set on an explosive lift like the OHP I have a lot of aggression... really makes me want to go a few rounds on the heavy bag.

You don't need to be so hasty to deload after only one failure on the OHP - give it another shot or two, youd be suprised at the progress you can make.

I realized that I jumped 10lbs in weights also. Bad memory I guess. The 115lbs was hard as hell, but the 125lbs broke me haha. Oh well, I think I'll just deload to where I should have been at, 120lbs and start from there again. Take my mulligan!

Hi Herf -

Can't wait to hear how the squats went today!! Geez, you are crusing right along with those!

Keep at that OHP - it is a miserable lift - gives everyone so much trouble

Does that make me a meathead?

  Who cares? I make a ton of noise just readjusting the pins on the squat rack (they stick, have to hit them w/a 10lb plate) and used to be so self conscious about it. Now, don't care so much. I like the rythmic (spelling?) clanking on DLs. Helps me count out the reps with authority.

Happy lifting. At least it's not so hot on the east coast this week!

Thanks for stopping by Kathy! The clanking did help me keep good rhythm with my deads. Didn't even think of that.

Squats
Warmup---------------------135lbs-----1x10
Actual------------------------225lbs  ---5x5

OHP--------------------------115lbs-----5x5

Deadlifts (clanked the hell out of them)
Warmup---------------------125lbs-----1x5
Actual------------------------225lbs-----1x5

Assisted chins--------------120lbs-----6,5,5

Squats went really easy tonight. I had tons of rest, like 4 days!! This made alot of difference. I felt like I was exploding up with the weight on my back. Maybe cause I was happy with the 4 big wheels on the bar.

OHP- A slight deload made quite a bit of difference. Most people seem to get demoralized for deloading, I like it because now I can get my 5x5 instead of failing. Arms were still shaky on this, but I got them out. Last rep was a bitch.

Deadlifts were rough tonight. The OHP seem to be draining my tank and leaving me with no energy for my deads. Maybe I should do deads my bench days. Not sure, I'll stick it out I guess.

Everything went well tonight, but I hardly ate anything. Was not home for most of the day. Only had 5 sausage patties all day. Thats only like 1500 calories, if I'm lucky. Need to eat twice as much if I'm going to avoid another stall in the near future.

Squats
Warmup---------135lbs-----1x10
Actual------------230lbs-----5x5
Bench press
warmup----------135lbs-----1x10
trial--------------165lbs------1x3
Actual------------155lbs------4x5
1 arm row--------75lbs-------4x5

Squats were hard tonight for some reason. Got them, but still rough.

Bench was weird. I thought I would try 165lbs but on the 3rd rep, knew it was not a good idea. Went to 155lbs, did ok, struggled on the 5th rep of the 4th set.

1 arm rows went smoothly, I'm thinking about 5x5 next time, or trying out the bent over rows
