I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

50kg 5x5 last night, in that I got it above my head 25 times.
However, 1st and 4th set were slow and definite deterioration of form on the 4th and 5th reps in both. However, the 5th set was much easier, probably because I spent the 3min rest pacing round the rack muttering, "The bar is light... the bitch is going up 5 times... the bar is light... the bitch is going up 5 times... " Squeezed the glutes hard enough to crack walnuts and up it went.
My tip (from Rip's DVD) - practice breathing out and then in at the top of the rep, the same as you would on the BP when you breath at lock out.
BTW, I'll be repeating the weight next workout (and probably the one after that), so plenty of time for others to catch up!

Well done on the 45kg and good luck with the 50kg! :D
How come you're not going up by 2.5kg every time?

Thanx.

Hm, I kind of feel that I have a little bit more in me. If I make 50 on Wednesday I'm staying with the 2.5 kg regiment from then on. Unless it comes really easy, then I might make one more 5 kg increment. It's all greed I guess.

Is 70kg some kind of benchmark standard for OHP? Like the 405 pound squat?

It's 10% over my weight, but I'll still race you all there :P

Yes, medhi must have forgotten to write in his e-book correctly. He said anyone should be able to lift 1.5BW squat and 2xBW deadlift, when he meant 1.5xBW squat, 2xBW deadlift and at least 70kgs 5x5 on the Press. :)

Happy to have you join, although you might also want to join the 1xBW OHP Challenge, as you're nearly there already!
