I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Sav Rocca is awesome. I remember seeing him getting lit up with a blindside cheap shot, and everyone was making a big deal about it. I was laughing, because that hit wouldn't even be notable in Aussie rules even sans padding, it's a crazy sport you've got there.

I thought the draft went pretty well for the Eagles. I think we could have picked up a bigger receiver, we still need a big body imo.

Most sports talking heads are giving the Eagles (arguably) best draft status. The got Shady McCoy(who happens to be from my area) and Maclin, right? Maclin's a beast of a receiver, plus he can take carries out of the backfield from an h-back position, etc. You also drafted a TE, which in some cases can be that "big body". But in all honestly, if Maclin starts from the gate, secondaries are going to have a handful covering both Maclin and Jackson at the same time.

The TE we picked up had a torn ACL before, but if he can recover from that completely he could be one of the biggest steals of the draft imo.

Heath Miller had a sports hernia in 05 when Pittsburgh drafted him. Didn't slow him down much. He's quietly become one of the best TEs in the game. I wouldn't worry too much about an injury people come back from regularly. That kid'll be fine when the season opens.

Interesting. And yeah Heath Miller is one of the best TE's in the game, imo.

Speaking of TE's my top 3 in the league would be...

1. Jason Witten
2. Antonio Gates
3. Tony Gonzalez

Hey Rugger.

Have you ever watched a game? When the games played as it is meant to be its very entertaining. I dont know about other football codes but sometimes the coaches employ very defensive tactics which can make the game very ho hum. When they play all out attack and its two good teams playing its very enjoyable. What sort of rugby is it you play? RBL or RBU?

Speaking of Sav Rocca, my two friends got his autograph. He was sitting outside Model's signing autographs. I was so mad when they told me, because they asked me to go to the mall with them. :/

I'm surprised he signed...but then again, he is "just a punter". A lot of pro athletes won't sign for anyone but kids anymore unless they're getting paid, what with people out to make a quick dollar turning them over on ebay for big money.

So...the big question of the off-season. To play or not to play...will Favre come back and play for the Vikes or is this all much ado about nothing? I have a feeling that dude's going to try to give it another run, and honestly, I'd be kind of glad to have him back in the NFC North. Would give that conference some serious drama that it's been lacking for a number of years.

Consider: Jay Cutler in Chicago, which isn't the slouch they used to be. Brett Favre in Minnesota with A. Peterson behind what is arguably the best O-line in the NFL and a defense that isn't to be sneezed at. The Lions projected to be better, even if they intend to throw Matt Stafford to the wolves as a rookie. If he can pull off a Matt Ryan/Joe Flacco kind of thing, they should be much improved. And then Aaron Rodgers in his 2nd year as a starter with what's shaping up to be a pretty good team with mostly the same offense and a revamped defense in Green Bay; they're switching to the 3-4 and drafted/signed guys to fill that need. Seeing Favre vs Green Bay twice this coming season could be great fun and all around it could make that conference run to the North title extremely interesting.

Is that were Favre might come back to? I haven't kept up that much after the draft lol.

And yeah if the Vik's got him it would be crazy! A.P + Favre would be so fun to watch.

Also I think you can say the Eagles have arguable one of the best O-lines this year. ;)

That's the current rumor that's going around. I guess Childress went out to visit him on his ranch the other day. This merry go round will keep spinning a few more weeks before anythings official, though, I'm sure. Gotta suck all the drama out of it they can.

No doubt.

On paper, to this point, perhaps for the Eagles. The Vikes have proven it for 2 seasons running. They're just a phenomenal front 5 out there in the Land of a Thousand Lakes. AP doesn't get what he gets all on his own.
