I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

My jeans have ripped in crotch area. First time ever.
But I don't squat in them!

Not sure what's going on there

Hey maroon - I've done a good few pairs of jeans in my time too.... recently wasted another pair. Gap sell loose fitting ones that don't seem to wear out that easily....

I haven't lost any in the line of duty.

My school gym has towel service which includes a Tshirt, shorts, socks and a towel. I use the shorts they provide as my underwear(saves on laundry, I am a student :) ), and I work out in basketball shorts. Both are very stretchy and dont rip.

I have worn the crotches out of a few pairs of jeans.

This is a great thread, it was only the other day that the possibility of this occurance..umm..occured to me. In the hole I heard a tear, finished the set not really knowing if my ass was hanging out, luckily it wasn't, it must have just been a close call, a pulling of the seams... As my shorts seem to be fitting tigher and tigher these days i'm sure it's just a matter of time...

Ripped a pair while stretching after last set - i told my gf NOT to buy me tighter shorts but she insisted !

Sunday before last we went to the H&M store in Beijing and, while i was trying a pair of light pants for the summer, i strangely decided to test for comfort-ness while in different positions so i squatted down.... and craaack little windy on the crotch area :) then we had a 5 min talk about whether we should pay for it or just leave the store asap.

The pair my gf bought me were really tight (she said she liked those on a man) and they felt uncomfortable.
My normal 2 pairs of shorts shouldn't crack before a few years..

I used to have loads of room in trousers, pants, shorts etc - my ass has just grown. Most of the shorts I've detonated weren't tight to walk around in though, only got tension across the back seam when at the bottom of the ROM. Add 90+kgs to my back and that tension is too much for even the bravest cargo pant!!!

Now on proper training shorts that are really loose, and have moved from exploding shorts to exploding boxers :)

Let me know in this thread how many of your shorts have met their end at the bottom of a squat, and they shall be remembered here.

46 pairs of shorts have died in the line of duty.

I went to Squat today and everything was fine on the first set. As I went down for the second set, blap!! a loud sound, a felt a gust of wind on my nether regions  my pants had split. I'll always wear jogging bottoms or a size bigger from now on. I left that gym like my life depended on it...luckily no one saw the split.

The squat, press, deadlift, and bench press have been used for decades by the strongest athletes on the planet. There is good reason for that. Any program that doesn’t use them is inferior to one that does.

haha already in week 5 of SL I ripped my tennis shorts at the seam, with a loud rip so everyone heard+saw it :? ! (I took it off in the gym and finished the set in my (flex) underwear! (did not want to ruin neither the set nor the shorts completely) :D :D
I do not care so much about my ruining my reputation. In the gym it should come from progress anyways
I now got a short made of flexible fabric (nike dry fit), so I guess I will never loose my shorts again in the gym.....

I simply choose to not wear undies at the gym. But I'm a girl, so I think I can get away with it.
