I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I tore my first pair of boxer shorts squatting, and my pants slightly. It was so loud and my buddy thought I tore a muscle, the look of fear on his face was priceless. :D

I changed my stance: Squatted a whole lot wider, and feet pointing out more. As I went down I heard this tearing noise... ahhhh at least I was wearing long pants. I have a feeling my form now is going to make life for my boxers hell.

Three pairs of boxers. One underwent major surgery and returned to action, only to fall in battle once again. The most recent of the three, I though about rehabing, but decided to let the fallen lie in peace...

1 pair of shorts.

They tore right across my left arse cheek during warm up squats, so had to go and buy a new pair from the front desk at the gym.

$30! But at least I got to complete my work out.

OK, first casualty of war fell yesterday (underwear boxer) ... I only had it for 2 weeks.
Didn't even know it until I went for the showers. Completely ripped open on the back.

Medic said no cosmetic surgery was possible so we had to bring the fella to his final resting place.

Guess I need to wear briefs again when going for squats

Well, it happened. First day in a commercial gym (had to move and sort-of lost my home gym), my boxers were torn asunder. And not just a hole. They ripped OPEN, down to the leg, haha. Was actually pretty comfy.
I guess it's boxer-briefs next time.

Low sperm count? lol j/k.

Ripped a pair of boxers almost right in-half doing box squats a couple weeks back. I was very thankful when I found out my actual shorts were still intact. Speaking of which; I always train in the same shorts and they have big tears in both sides below the pockets. The tears are about 2-3 inches and I have to wear very conservative boxers so you can't really tell. Also a bit torn in the front roughly halfway between my balls and my belly button. I've gotten them fixed once in all the same locations, but I think it's about time for a new pair. I don't know where I can get a nice pair that will withstand the squatting, though.

Laughed when I saw this as I only thought it was me. Yep - 2 pairs of shorts which the split got progressively worse as I worked through the reps. My answer now is to wear jogging bottoms on Squat days. Also it helps my shins from grazing as much when deadlifting...

Haha..

The only thing I've ripped so far is a pair of slacks/dress pants at work during a deep squat stretch in an empty conference room. Thank God it happened near the end of the day and the rip was in the taint/grundle of the pants, so it was hardly noticeable.

Two pair of shorts for me, including my favorite pair that had a little cell phone pocket right by the main zipper. The other pair were camo, so nobody could see me do it! Well, until my boxers were showing through.

I also put a very small rip in my favorite wind pants, but they're still good to go and my #1 choice. The rip isn't getting any bigger, so it's all good.

Exploded my shorts wide open on a warmup set a few weeks ago. Dropped into the hole and there was a very loud 'pop'. I had to slink home and go back to the gym later that day... Needless to say i bought some stretchier, baggier clothes very soon

My workout pants took a hit from bulgarian squats the other day, but it was just a flesh-wound (stitching separated a little but didn't tear completely).

Just dropped my jeans off to get the arse stitched up for the third time!

They're less than a year old. Blew one cheek a few weeks ago. Then the other last week. Now getting the original repair redone.

Might be time to get some new jeans.
