I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Good work on the deads Mouse. As for the more serious topics, I thank god I never got the fashion bug, and even better there were no cameras in my tribe at teh time. . .

@Markg, and Mgh,
One has to stop the WOs and behave until Mouse is around,

Monday 16 November 09
5/3/1/ Cycle 2 - Wave 1 - Squat Day

100kg x5
115kg x5
130kg x7

80kg 3x10

GM - 80kg 3x8

Chins - BW - 16 total - several sets

Deload week turned into beer week with no WOs.
Definately didn't want to work out, took all my efforts to get motivated to go into the garage.
That said, I was glad I did. Had done some re-reading of the 5/3/1 manual and this stuck in my mind:

5/3/1 wrote:What about you? Do you really think so little of yourself that you can’t sacrifice an hour or two, 3-4 days a week, for yourself? This “me” time isn’t spent shopping, watching TV or getting on the internet. You’re spending it reinvesting in your body, building strength, and building character. Kicking ass and training consistently – and with some balance – will do wonders for both your body and your mind.

Good WO

And THAT is the take-away lesson here.

Good session indeed.

I was always under the impression it is insulting to refer to Guinness as "beer", but perhaps that's because I live in the States where such things as Coors Light gets by under that label as well.

Nice job getting into the gym and knocking out a good session in spite of it all!

130x7 is definitely a good day, especially considering that you had to force yourself to hit the weights.
my log

current lifts (1x5): squat- 310, bench- 215, deadlift- 315
goals for 2010: squat- 400, bench 300, deadlift 500

Wednesday 18 November 09
5/3/1/ Cycle 2 - Wave 1 - Bench Day

60kg x5
80kg x5
80kg x5

Dips - BW - 10/9/6
DB Rows - 20kg - 3x20 (L/R)

Realised too late I had put 80 on the second set instead of 70. Thought it felt heavy at the time. Didn't want to go for more on the last set.
Dips - so so.
DB Rows - think i'm going to enjoy these.

Nice WO.
I already made a similar mistake as well in the past (now you mention it, with the same observation, how odd ... )

Isn't it nice when you see you did extra work by mistake, but you made the set, and that's the beauty of it!
As for the beer week, I guess it's of great value to spend some Quality Time with the family, the Guinness one that is. . .

Monday 24 November 09
5/3/1/ Cycle 2 - Wave 1 - Press Day

40kg x5
45kg x5
50kg x6

30kg 3x10
Arnold DB Press - 12.5kg 3x6

Short WO as I was pressed for time. Think I would have had a few more reps in me for the last set on the Press if i'd had more than 60 seconds rest between sets
