I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

W/C 21 Jan 08 (Week 3):
Monday
Squat 70kg - 5x5
Press 30kg - 5x5
Row 50kg - 5x5
Curls 27.5kg - 5x5

Had to buy 2 more 20kg plates yesterday - looking forward to getting all 4 20's on next week for squats.
Suffering at the moment with an attack of 'man-flu'.  I was almost tempted to skip last nights work out.
However, a few ibuprofen and the mirror giving me a stern talking to saw me hitting the weights.  Surprisingly, all thoughts of the flu soon evaporated as that welcoming squatting feeling took over.  By the time i'd done the first 2 sets I felt like I was firing on all cylinders - just goes to show it's sometimes worth going for it no matter how you feel.
That said, despite a good work out, I stayed up later than usual and feel absolutely sh*t today !!!!
Bring on Wednesday.....................

Sweet - I am considering setting up a home gym as well. Not sure where yet, might take over part of the media room (the kids wont be too happy with that though)
May you use the equipment in the best of health !!!

It's a Bodymax CF375 Standard Power Rack
Good for 180Kg/400lbs apparently.  So that's twice my bodyweight!!
I guess if I ever get that far (yeah right!) i'll have to invest in the next rack.

The 7' bar looks pretty impressive too

Wednesday:
Squat 72.5kg - 5x5
Bench 42.5kg - 5x5
Deads 85kg - 3x5
Skulls 32.5kg - 5x5

Another good session tonight.  Used the 7' bar for squats - felt much better than the 5'.

@Mehdi
What with the talk of 5x5 deads, I dropped to 3x5 tonight.
Planning on 3x5 for next week, then 2x5 for week 5 and 1x5 for week 6 and beyond as the squats increase!!!
Short term goal for week 6 deads - 1x5 @115kg (think that will be a Friday session)

Remember although it's 1x5, you have your warmup sets too. Feel free to try the 5x5 if you want to. Failure is a good teacher ;)
Good luck with the goals Mouse.

Friday
Squat 75kg - 5x5
Press 32.5kg - 5x5
Row 52.5kg - 5x5

Left out the curls tonight as I couldn't wait any longer to put MY RACK TOGETHER - yeah!!
Squats starting to feel tough - hoping to find them better next week now the rack is together and I don't have to mess about getting the weight onto my shoulders.
Press still feels good, but I think Rows are going to be the death of me!

 Anyway:
