I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

RE TGU's
So 3x5, but do I keep the weight in the same hand for all 3 sets, or do I swap the weight ?

Victor, I mean same weight, but alternate hands:
Set 1 - hold weight with right hand x 5 reps
Set 2 - hold same weight with left hand x 5 reps
Set3 - hold same weight with right hand x 5 reps

Friday:
Squat 82.5kg 5x5
Bench 47.5kg 5x5
Deads 95kg 3x5
Dips 5 / 4 / 2

That was tough.
Squats are definately slowing and getting harder to push out with form.
Bench still ok.
Deads - first set, second rep, didn't keep tight and got a sharp pain in my left side. Kept going and got 3x5, but don't think I could have done any more. Seems ok now after some stretching - glad to be droping to 2x5 next week, then 1x5 week after!!
Dips - quite happy with these as first attempt.

Late to bed last night, but slept like a log and missed my alarm - bit late to work!!
Felt absolutely wasted after last night's workout - surprising how it does that to you occasionally. Feel great today though, have definately pulled something on my left side from the Deads.  Doesn't feel too bad - at least i've a break until Wednesday before deads again.
Just goes to show how important correct form is I suppose.

Won't laugh with the white briefs, but I'll laugh with the slippers :))))))
Good progress on the legs really. Stomach also flattened out. chest/shoulders/arms are bigger. Nice work. How do you feel about it yourself?
Do some spinal decompressions for that back, also some glute activatoin if you can. Make sure you squeeze glutes next time & keep shoulder-blades back/down, chest forward.

Hey, those slippers were a Christmas present from my Mum !!!!!!!!!!!!
Strangely, they're quite stable for squats with a good flat sole !
(Can't wait for my Converse to come through the post)

It's only really 1 month, but i'm happy with the progress so far.  Hoping next month will see more improvement  - but we'll see when comparing photo time comes around again! Defintely feel better in myself.

Will start on the bird-dogs soonest.
Do you have a link for the spinal decompressions?

W/C 04 FEB 08 (Week 5):

Monday:

Squat 85kg 5x5
Press 37.5kg 5x5
Shrugs 85kg 5x5
Chin ups 4 / 3 / 3

Squats were hard until last set when I whipped through them - very odd that one.
Press is also starting to take more effort, but still ok with good form.
Dropped Rows and substituted with Shrugs (standing by for incoming!)
Chin ups increase !!!!!

Converse trainers came through as well - definately a good choice.
Missed TGUs - totally forgot to do them as i'd not taken my updated workout sheet home !!
(That really was a poor excuse)

Wednesday:
Squat 87.5kg 5x5 **********97.5kg (see below)
Bench 50kg 5x5
Deads 100kg 2x5
Dips 6 / 4 / 3

***********Major drama tonight - I weighed my bar.  What with starting with a 5' non oly bar, I never bothered including the bar with the weight as it only felt light.  Then I changed to a 7' non oly bar and never thought any more. Well out of curiosity last night I weighed my 7' bar - 10kg.  This means i'm squatting 97.5kg ! Felt a bit of a muppet for not realising this - but hey that means i'm squatting bodyweight plus and Friday means 100kg (sh*t !!!)
Bench was good to go again.
Deads - better form after last time.  Felt really good even though I was somewhat apprehensive after pulling my left side last time.  Think i'll go for 110 with 1x5 on Monday - short term goal was 115 for next Friday - think this is going  to be doable.
Dips increased first and last set - so happy there.
Overall a good session - very pleased.
