I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Big thanks to everyone for the interest and comments in my log - it's appreciated and great motivation.

The Mouse family is flying off to Majorca tomorrow for a week in the sun so I won't be posting.
Will have to try to do some BW exercises while away - although that usually means drinking beer

Back for 2 days then away for 4 days with work - so all in all it's going to be about 2 weeks before i'm back under the weights.

Try not to miss me too much - i'll be thinking of you all toiling away under heavy loads - no doubt i'll be playing catch up again on my return.

Nice big day, Mouse (but you owe us a big set of BP, my friend).
Well done getting to a high point before departing on your trip.
Come back rested and fulla beer. We'll be creeping up on your numbers in the meantime ;)

Nice deadlift, it makes you officially strong in my book, a man who could, head held high, walk into any gym and not feel out of place.
Now the quest to become officially very strong begins.

The holiday and a rest from the weights will most likely do you good. I've always found that strength declines much slower than fitness.
Male 37 - 5'9" - 240lb.
Deadlift 600+
Squat 500+
Pess 315
Bench 450+
these numbers will go up (except the bench....bloody shoulder joint)

Good thanks Guru - going to take a while to catch up on the forum though

Probably far too many cervesas and junk food - but that's what a holiday is for.

Monday 8 June 09
Box Squats - 100kg 5x5
Press - 40kg 3x5
DL - 145kg 1x5
Chins - BW 5x2

2 weeks off? Felt more like 2 months off
Squats - tried these off a low box after reading up on them today - tough but no dramas
Press - had deloaded to this prior to the break - not bad
DL - my hands must have softened up as i felt every rep in them - otherwise great
Chins - I must keep doing these, I must keep doing these, I must...........

Felt so tempted not to WO tonight - so easy to get out of the habit - glad to be back though - it can only get better

Get stuck in son! Know what you mean about getting out of the habit. First time back is so easy to put off.

Keep doing those chins!

Cheers Mark - all I wanted to do was sit on the sofa and watch some rubbish on TV - but his little voice in my head kept saying - "come on you fat lazy lump of lard - H will be dead lifting more than you soon" - that was enough
