I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Wednesday:
Squat  102.5kg 5x5
Press 42.5kg 5/5/3/2/2
Shrugs 102.5kg 5x5
Chin ups 5 / 3 / 2
TGU 5kg 2x5 L, 2x5 R

Squats back on track after stall on Monday.
Press - Last week was tough and only just got the 5x5, today was a struggle, feeling heavy now !
Tried Power Cleans tonight but technique still not there yet, may have to revisit Rows again - Shrugs no problems.
Chins - Extra rep on the first set so improving slowly.
TGUs - what an excellent exercise this is - absolutely on my chin strap after these - may have been due to my not resting between sets though !!!

Friday:
Squat 105kg 5x5
Bench 55kg 5x5
Deads 120kg 1x5
Dips 1 / 7 / 5 / 4

Mum and Dad came over to visit today - Dad's birthday.  By the time they had gone and the little lad was in bed it was getting late.  A small voice said to me, "Go on, leave it, you can do the weights tomorrow" and I listened.  So I sat down and read a few entries on the forum and felt guilty. Got changed and into the garage about 2130!!
Squats went well but were hard work.
Bench - starting to slow and finding it harder to get the bar off the supports to start the later sets.
Deads - Just felt that way out tonight.  Was a short term goal to get 115kg by today.  Monday at 112.5kg felt good so I thought, "what the hell" and went for it.  5 good solid reps - very pleased.
Dips - thought after the bench and deads I wasn't going to get any - hence first set of 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!  Must not have set up right so took a minute and hey presto an increase!
Too whacked for TGUs - sad excuse but it was late (how lame does that sound especially after reading Wednesday's comment!)

Good session - apart from the TGUs (or rather lack of !)

You have put it in the best possible words Mouse. Let's keep working hard!
The Forum does make a difference, so many people doing the same: getting themselves back.
Have a great weekend

mackanno:
How did you post your pics Mouse?

You need to host them on another site - imageshack, photobucket etc.  Then using the Insert Image icon on the toolbar, when entering comments, link the url and it should work.   Off the top of my head I pasted the image url in the box on the 'Image Info' tab and the 'Link ' tab.
I had to mess about a bit but got there in the end.
The photos from my camera - I inserted them into a word document, cropped them so they were the same size and were next to each other, then highlighted the three together and copied them to the clipboard.  From there I pasted them into IrfanView (or any other image viewer) and saved it as a jpg - this is what I hosted on the web.

Hope that helps.

W/C 18 FEB 08 (Week 7):

Monday:
Squat 107.5kg 5x5
Press 42.5kg 5 / 5 / 5 / 3 / 3
Row 40kg 5x5
Pull Ups  3 / 3 / 3
TGU 5kg 3x5 L / 3x5 R

Squats - form was a bit shakey during sets 2 / 3 but sorted out for the latter sets.  These are getting heavy now!  Don't know about anyone else, but I seem to find Monday's workout to be the toughest for squats - probably due to lack of sleep and the wavering weekend diet!!
Press - stalled second time although more reps in the latter sets this time - should get this on Friday.
Rows - return to rows !!  Tried these ala KIB - underhand grip - seemed to go better for me this way - lets see how they go from here.
Pulls - slight increase - bit disappointed though.
TGUs - 3 sets each hand - knackered - increase weight next time!

Thanks for the info Mouse. And yes, I feel Mondays are a bit difficult but once the squats are done the rest falls into place nicely.

Just finished reading your log Mouse, good progress man.
It's dangerous to read this forum at 10PM. Instead of going to bed I feel like going to the gym

Wednesday:
Squat 110kg 5 / 5 / 4 / 5 / 6
Bench 57.5kg 5x5
Deads  125kg 1x5
Dips - skipped
TGUs - 7.5kg 3x5 L 3x5 R

Squats - third set I was somewhere else ! Form wavered at 2 and 3 reps and I found myself on the pins after 4 reps! Reset the bar and fourth set was fine with more concentration on form. Last set - well I just had to get that missing rep back !
Bench - seemed ok
Deads - struggled to crack the bar off the floor, managed it on the third attempt.  Having done this once, the reps were no problem.
Dips - skipped these tonight.  Felt a pull in the outside of my left arm - seems to be between the bicep and tricep. Felt it with dips last time and felt it during squats tonight - not bad this morning (Thurs) but still get a twinge now and again.
TGUs - upped the weight by 2.5kg - knackered !!!
