I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I think it is the same as bench dips. Correct ?

Can be quite bad for your shoulders, BTW ...

I googled reverse dips and could only find someone doing normal dips but facing away from the dip station...is that it?

For a basic idea - reverse dips - although this guy's ROM is a bit small

Not really.
On reverse dips your shoulders are getting a lot more stress then regular dips.

If you do not have a problem with it, by all means continue doing them ;)

Ah Ha! That's that sorted then. I think I'll stick with regular dips though, I have enough trouble with aching shoulders as it is! :D

Reverse dips..sorry to be a fool, can someone provide a picture or an explanation?

The squat, press, deadlift, and bench press have been used for decades by the strongest athletes on the planet. There is good reason for that. Any program that doesn’t use them is inferior to one that does.

Monday 29 June 09
Squats - 120kg 5x5
Pressups - BW 25/15/10
R Dips - 10/10/12

Squats - heavy with plenty of rest between sets. Still slow work - may have to start KIBamiding to progress higher.
Did a walk out with 170 - unthinkable at the moment to attempt a squat - still one day
Pressups - not bad
R Dips - good

Nice big fat squats, Mouse. I'm getting to the point on the box squats when I'm going to have to start pyramiding again. Chris9 said he has had some good progress by working them in to his routine on BP, DL and Squats. I still find them very useful.
170 walkout... Awesome. Got to try that. How was it stepping in and out? Quick steps or still controlled?

Fairly controlled - didn't want to risk doing the quick step with it on my back.

You'll be squatting 170kg soon enough. It sounds better as 374lbs though.
Male 37 - 5'9" - 240lb.
Deadlift 600+
Squat 500+
Pess 315 (on a good day)
Bench 450+
these numbers will go up

Wednesday 01 July 09
Squats - 5x 115kg/120kg/125kg/120kg/115kg
Press - 50kg 4/4/2
DL - 70x5 110x3 155x1 165x0 160x0 150x0

Squats - brilliant - great going - nice KIBamid
Press - after recent success - this was hard to take - especially not even getting 5 in the first set
DL - absolute rubbish - totally disgusted with my dismal performance - so much so, I did 3x8 curls because I am so pathetic

If I had a birch stick i'd beat myself with it - not even room in this post for a smilie
