I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Squats - 130kg 3x3
Bench - 70 kg 3x5
Reverse Dips - 10kg 3x10
Static holds - 20kg per hand 3x2mins

Squats - short and sharp work sets - good.
Bench - good to get this tonight after struggling with 67.5kg.
R Dips - felt I could have pushed more out on each set - add next time.
Static holds - left my foreams nicely pumped

4 WOs till New York and i've got to try a 190 pull in one of those.

Nice squats, Mouse. How far are you going to take the 130s?
What's a reverse dip? Facing the other way? ;)
Looking forward to seeing the 190 DL soon. Go get it, strongman!

Nice solid workout Mouse.

Where do you put the 10 kg plate on the reverse dips? On your lap or on the back?

Good luck for the 190 next week.

Hey mouse. Great squats and bench, but those R Dips must really make the triceps bulge! 8)

Going for 135 3x3 on Friday for squats and hoping to increase that to 3x5 by the end of the following week before my NY trip. 135 being comfortably over 1.5 x BW.

As for the 190 pull .................

Guru - I used my dipping belt, attached the 10 as normal and then moved the belt round so the weight was behind my back if that makes sense.
Seemed to work well if I kept the chain short or else the weight hit the floor when I dipped down.
May have been easier using 2x5kg plates as they are not as big across.

Friday 10 July 09
Squats - 135kg 3x3
DL - 70kg x5 - 110kg x5 - 150kg x1 - 170kg 2x1 - 110kg x10
SLDL - 110kg 2x5
Press - 20kg 3x20

Squats - felt like my head was going to explode - hard work - but over 1.5xBW.
DL - 170 felt good tonight - threw in some SLDL to try them out.
Press - don't ask why - I don't know either.

Good WO

Great effort on the squats and you're well on your way to that 190kg DL.
When I started SL, I thought I'd be doing 1.5xBW squats by the end of the year (the enthusiasm of ignorance!). I'm now understanding how tough a goal that is, so big congrats to you for lifting more than that on a regular basis.
I was just catching up on the last couple of pages and saw DL 150kg 3x5. Fantastic! Imagining that 150kg is light enough to do for 3 sets seems a little way off right now for me.

Great stuff on the squats, Mouse. I am enjoying the box squats, but watching you and H these days really makes me want to get back to the real squats. Soon. Soon.
Those reverse dips look like "feet elevated dips" that I used to do between two chairs before I could do real dips. Is there something I'm missing?
Rooting for you on the 15th, big fella!

Still on for Aug 7 afternoon pints ;)

You know Mouse, there is an easier way to get over 1.5BW squat ... drop BW :D
j/k

Good job, next target: 2xBW !

But first we have a goal to meet by end of the year, right ? ;)

hey mouse, same goes for your log as for kib's - caught up on the last 5 or 6 pages, and there was nothing shocking, only the usual madness...
great lifts! and I'm sure you'll nail the 190kg DL - you have to :)

oh, and I'm already back from the UK, didn't make it across the humber, unfortunately. time passed really fast. will be back in a week for a few days, but then you're off to NY... but I'll have a Guinness anyway :D
