I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Tight low back

In the past few weeks, I've been feeling pretty stiff/tight in my low back, and this coincides with my resuming squatting. It almost feels like if I make one wrong move, even walking around, I'm gonna tweak something.

I'm thinking (and hoping) that maybe it is due to general lack of, and probably decrease in, flexibility. I used to be better about stretching, but in the last couple of months, I've stopped stretching altogether, and just do some foam rolling and a few mobility exercises, in addition to lifting.

I think I might do a little yoga at home 1-2x a week on off-days and see if this helps. Open to other suggestions, or ideas as to what this could be.

Thanks for the link.

Did a little yoga today. Shocking. I did a bit of yoga several years ago, and I'm disappointed by how much flexibility I've lost in the last few years. Not that I was very flexible back then, but I'm quite inflexible now. I suspect this has a lot to do with the stiffness I'm feeling.

I think I'll do a bit of yoga (skipping the strength stuff) on the off-days, and maybe do a little pigeon pose (I am unbelievably bad at this) every night before going to sleep.

Maybe you need some recovery time? When my back feels like that I take 2-3 days of and I'm brand new.
