I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Brock is just part of the mmahype machine, I'm sure Carwin will beat him.. but I could be wrong, maybe Brock can take a hit. Look up Brocks interviews.. he was worried he was going to have to fight him. And Fedors camp has stated retirement as an option in the near future. Sooner or later Fedor will win over the American fan base, I just wish more people were around when pride fc was king. On other news sense no one has brought it up Marquez vs Mayweather september 18th.. I want Marquez to win but I see Mayweather with a late knockout

Interesting. I hadn't heard that.

I definitely miss the Pride days too. I thought the rules were better, I like the ring much more than the cage, the depth of its heavyweight division was just sick (a department in which the UFC still lacks, imho), and I really, really miss the Crocop of old -- the one who gave Fedor a run for his money, beat the shit out of Nogueira (before getting caught, of course), and put a beating on Vovchanchyn, Wanderlei, Herring, Barnett, etc., etc. The guy was just plain scary back then.

Haven't really followed mma after pride, how's crocop nowadays then?

I've missed the last couple fights of his, but when he first came to the UFC, and that was on the heels of Pride's Final Conflict Absolute where he destroyed Wanderlei and Barnett, he was fed a guy nowhere near his level and then got knocked out (via high kick, irony of ironies) by a guy without a quality win under his belt. Then he fought Cheik Kongo. Kongo looks impressive and was hyped as a possible contender, but still, at the time he hadn't fought and beaten anyone worth mentioning, but Cro Cop looked horrible, fought pensively, and lost a boring decision. he then left the UFC for all of 2008, had a couple easy tune-up fights and one NC against Overeem. He returned to the UFC earlier this year where he won apparently via knockout. I didn't see the fight so I can't really comment on it, but the guy he fought has a less than impressive record. Considering he had only 2 losses (both by decision, one split and one unaminous) between 2004 and early 2007 while fighting in the deepest heavyweight division of any org, the last year and a half has been pretty disappointing.

Damn :| That's a let down. Always loved watching his fights. He had the best fighting style, I never really liked ground matches, with few exceptions of course, and that left kick of his was one mean KO tool.

Gonzaga knocked Cro Cop the fuck out.
Stats:
Bench: 97kg
Squat: 112kg
Deadlift: 117kg
OHP: 55kg
Dips: 40kg
Pull-ups: 22kg

The deadlift is not dead; size is dead without it.
