I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I am going on vacation to france for 2 weeks and WILL NOT have access to a gym of any kind. I cannot go 2 weeks without exercising. It will make me physically and mentally miserable. I also don't want to loose a lot of strength as i am only 15lbs away from squatting 200lbs. Any suggestions of a supplement routine i could do while away?? Mainly body weight exercies and what not seeing as thats all i will really have access too.

thanks!!
Goals August 2009

Squat- 230lbs (1.5x body weight)
Deadlift- 250lbs
Press- 150lbs
Weight 170lbs (currently 155lbs)

As well as the usual bodyweight exercises take a resistance band along that could help a bit. In addition depending on what you are doing and where you are staying get creative with your surroundings, Farmers walk with jerry cans, spare wheel, rocks, logs or bags full of sand. If you are driving to France you could try slipping a couple of dumbells into your luggage as well.

LOL, now THAT is manly.

"You lift? Me too! Do you have a gym? Nautilus machines?"
"No, no. I go outside and lift rocks."

But I wasn't joking ;)
We are buying a little house in the South of France and there are plenty of rocks there.
It is actually fun to try to grab one and lift it. Especially the odd forms can make it a true gripping exercise.
Adds a nice twist to a stroll in the woods ;)

Hey, I wasn't doubting it. I think its awesome. And you're right---why not do some exercises that mirror actual work for a change? Tossing hay bales is another good one, though more of an high volume exercise.

Taking some gear and going camping out in the sticks is great, too.
