I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Valuev vs Haye

Whatever comes to your mind

Valuev vs Haye

Postby nburge on Thu Nov 05, 2009 5:39 pm

Anyone got any predictions here? I'm keen to watch the fight this saturday, and can't see anyone beating that giant. When a heavyweight boxing contender looks minute against his opponent, you know me must be BIG... I'd love to see Haye win though as a Brit and because I like supporting the underdog......

I say Haye Knocks him out.

Haye will be weary of letting it go to a decision, especially in Germany and after seeing Holyfield robbed by the judges against Valuev.

Haye is ceratinly confident anyway:

Anyone thinking talking a big game translates to the ring should look at the David Tua vs Shane Cameron fight. Cameron talked a big game, albeit to hype the fight that wasn't globally recognised but he got dealt to early in the second.

Anyway I hope the big man knocks out the cocky relatively little Brit.

I would like to see Valuev knocked out - I just cannot imagine how anyone would achieve it though. He's 7 feet tall and 23 stone (322lbs) - that's just monstrous!

Difference being that Hong Man Choi (or something like that) is a horrible fighter and Valuev is a good boxer.

Well Haye did it. I agree that Valuev isn't as terrible as alot of people make out, but he is a bit methodical and rarely throws more than one punch; hardly an excitement machine once the freak factor is overcome. I would put Valuev in the 'competent' rather than 'good' category.

From a boxing perspective I'm glad haye won because I think he's better to watch and I hope to see him against the Klitschkos, who I have alot of time for.
Injured :(

Evander Holyfield already beat Valuev, but the judges screwed him.

Hmm, as always with things that get very hyped up that was actually a little bit of a disappointment.... I hoped for something magical in the final round when Haye caught him a few times, and Valuev wobbled, but it wasn't to be. I was quite surprised that the judges gave it to Haye though - whilst he was far more aggressive than Valuev I didn't think he'd done enough to warrant the win.
