I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

impressive squat and especially deadlift. how did you become a member of USAPL? powerlifting is something i'm looking into, along with strongman.

 thanks.
u had to at the meet when u walked in the door. cause  that meet was michigan equipped state championship yet it was hosted by them and if u qualified for nationals u had to be a member. and that was my main reason being there so i signed up =] paul:

yup my workout is very screwey right now.

I have the state meet next saterday(3/15/08) and Im doing small things here and there to work on form and running to loose weight.

btw. after the state meet. nationals is in april. and im going equipped. its pretty fun. bench shirt, squat suit, knee wraps.

Ill be perfectly honest the shirt hurt at first. the knee wraps are ungodly painful and we got the squat suits in friday, but no chance to try em on.

so this week should be interesting / very difficult. Track starts monday and the ACT and MME(michigan merit exam[act is included in it]) on tuesday-thursday and on thursday is weigh in, so I have to drive 100 miles away to weigh in. then come back for school on friday then go back there saterday.

From The Raw States from today. 3rd once again, could have taken second, but screwed up on bench horribly. here are some pics:

300.(had it but on the way up i sagged so they didnt count it. i did get 280 before this so either way I broke and now have the state squat record)

145, waiting for the press command. yes i know I am a puss bencher

350 last set,I felt another 5, maybe 10 pounds in me. also broke state record, although the other guy got 360, yet he scratched 400 for his 2nd and third attemps and he has gotten 410 before. so the bar should be a lot higher then it acctualy is.he was just having a bad day lol.

is that the way they deadlift for the high school powerlifting/ weightlifting comps. i mean sumo style? i seen a viseo somewhere else, of a young lad doing the same style at what looked like a high school comp. or is it what ever style you want to use?

Thanks young athlete, iv put a lot of hard work into it.

Those shoes are from this years basketball season and i wore them cause there comfy, have ankle support and thehy match my "liftin uniform"

there is no set way to deadlift for high schoolers, thats just the way I find easier for me to lift.

Wow those are some great squats and deads but I'm just curious, do you not put much time into bench pressing or is that just a personal weakness, not that 155 is anything bad at all but considering you're pretty amazing squat and dead I think you could be pushing like 185 or something!

Amazing nonetheless, I'm getting up there, I think I've got a 260 squat in me, maybe a 180 bench press, deadlifts are a problem for me though.

My school has a powerlifting team too. One of my friends, an Asian kid, was dominant in powerlifting. He didn't do the team this year cause he got in trouble for some other stuff and banned from athletics (not steroids or anything, just some other "trouble" lol)

Anyways when he was in powerlifting when we were juniors (we are both now seniors), these were his stats:

BW: 148lbs.

Bench: 260lbs.
Deadlift: 440lbs.
Squat: 420lbs.
