I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

What about Honey?

I like sweet stuff, but I don't like using processed, refined sugar. I grew up eating a lot of honey and continue to do so. In a normal day I'll have some on my oatmeal or cereal at breakfast and usually on a peanut butter sandwich in the afternoon or evening. Sometimes I'll just grab a spoonful and have it by itself. What are the drawbacks and benefits? I know there's a lot of carbohydrate in honey, but is it "cleaner" than using something else?

I guess it depends on what kind of honey you're consuming. You've got that expensive whole food honey, which really tastes like honey. Then you have that cheap honey, which is filled with sugar to add taste.
I like honey too on my oatmeal.

Mine's just plain honey, not expensive, but there's nothing in it but "bee juice". I've gotten really freaked lately about added sugar and corn syrup in stuff, so if there's something like that in what I'm buying, then I look for something different.

Honey is a good replacement for sugars like white sugar, braun sugar etc, because honey contains different kinds of sugars.

Honey has a lot of Sugar, but it has a high acidity, so its really good if your feeling sick, etc.  Its good in moderation, just dont overdo it beacuse it is packed with sugar, even tho its natural.  I like honey in tea.

I guess I wouldn't recommend it if you're trying to get cut.

what do you all think about Fruit Sugar? it looks like normal sugar but tastes sweeter and is apparently just from fruit.

Stevia is the way to go - great sweetener for tea in particular. All Natural
