I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

What Content Do You Want in Next StrongLifts.com eBook?

I'm writing new blog and newsletter content at the moment. One of the big limitations with both (especially blog content) is that you can't get into details as much, otherwise posts get far too long.

I'd like to write more eBooks. I have several ideas for content in mind. But I'd like to hear it from you first. What kind of content would interest you most? List 3 things you struggle with and that you'd like me to write about in an eBook.

More stuff on nutrition would be great. I struggle a bit with recipes, clean cheap'n'easy take-to-work/college/uni/school recipes. Ways to make veggies taste good, too, for those of us that struggle.

How about a few inspirational stories or testimonials.

Definitely the benefits of SL program. Not that there aren't already blog posts about, like the front page of the site. A couple thousand forum posts about it. But page 1 of the ebook with threats against posting same questions on forum to be answered ad nauseum. Okay, I'll reign in the cynicism.

More nutrition info. Absolutely loved the content on 101 foods for the AD. Anything and everything about that would be great.

Kind of hard to describe this, but maybe some of the philosophy of the exercises/routine setup. Reasons why things are the way they are and why it is important not to make changes. I seem to remember something in the blog, but haven't seen it for awhile.

Oh, yeah, before I forget. More cowbell!

It's been said already, but the more people say it, the more important it will show itself to be, so... Diet and nutrition! Definitely the top of my list.

Another thing... The newest edition of the ebook doesn't cover exercise technique. Is this because there are blog posts on it? I think it'd be nice if that was once again in a readily printable form.

This might be beyond the scope of StrongLifts, but more information on intermediate and advanced programming would be excellent. Actually, sports specific programs would be great.

Anyway, the top of my list is definitely nutrition, though. Thanks for everything Medhi.

There is no shortage of those! :D

When I first got the e-book, I made a point-form "checklist" of what I needed to do for each lift by copying the main points from Mehdi's instructions into my notebook. Before each lift, I'd go through the checklist and make sure I had each thing set before lifting. There is so much to remember for each lift. Perhaps a point-form summary of each lift after the explanation? Form is always a problem at the beginning. So much to remember. Anything that simplifies the info down to its essentials would be helpful.

I think it would be worthwhile to have a collection of exercise technique articles. Something for people who don't have access to Starting Strength.

I'll second the diet and nutirition, and also more on intermediate training--to help point people in the right direction once they are out of the beginner stage.

Not sure if this would be appropriate for the E-book.
1) More info on mehdi himself and how he got to where he is.
2)Where to buy stronglift t-shirts
3)mehdi's notes on favourite compound exercise and why

Again not sure if this is really relevant for the e-book but i would like to know a bit more about the man behind the stronglifts 5x5.
Am sure mehdi will choose accordingly

Peace.

The squat, press, deadlift, and bench press have been used for decades by the strongest athletes on the planet. There is good reason for that. Any program that doesn’t use them is inferior to one that does.

I personally think you should try and have an ebook of SL approved easy recipes, especially ones containing things like Spinach or Wild Salmon in ways that hide the flavor for people like me who don't like them. I would LOVE to see something like this.

The good thing about this is you wouldn't have to write it all yourself, because recipes can easily be user submitted and then screened by you.

EDIT:Changed some wording to make more sense

Agree with the nutrition, some ways to make bad tasting food taste good would be great.

Also, tips for advanced lifters (since we can't do 5x5 forever, even with deloading) for bringing up each lift that don't require much equipment, a lot of people don't have access to bands/chains. Especially tips for bench press since there isn't a lot of info on the blog about it.

Some more lifting programs like smolov would also be very useful.

good point there. Just start a thread and harvest the best recipes. Intro the book with the 10 rules, some stuff from other nutrition articles... gold.

I like the stuff about the philosophy of strength, compounds etc. It's covered in the current ebook, but more depth about why compounds rule, why free weights are superior etc would be an interesting read.

At the risk of kicking in an already open door:

nutrition, definitely.
Recipes for on-the-go are high on my wish-list ;)

I like the idea of collecting user input and have it screened. Too bad I don't have that much good recipes myself, otherwise I would contribute

Following on that thought... In Starting Strength (2nd edition), I enjoy the time lapse photos that show the basic stages of a lift. For example: for the deadlift, page 145. It's 12 photos and it's quite clear. This is the next best thing to watching a video in the gym.

Would be cool if we could have some photos like that. Could be as simple as taking some frames/screen grabs from the existing videos.

Firstly, I can't wait till you get your ebooks out Mehdi and thank you for everything.

So for the next ebook here are my thoughts.

    1) nutrition and diet - I know it's been said but it's quite important
    2) easy to make recipes and their beneifts, maybe even your favorites and why?
    3) have to agree with Rere on this one, more about the man behind this movement ;) and where to get SL shirts so I can show em off at my gym

p.s. I like the idea of a recipe book and it would definitely be easier because as ukdudeinuk stated people can submit their recipes and you can screen them.

Once again, thanks a lot Mehdi.
