I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Atlas led the Titans in a war against the gods, which reflects my distaste at those who try to impose their will on others.

Atlas was the strongest of the Titans, "hurling mountains at the gods like mere pebbles". Something to aspire to! No doubt, this is where they got the idea for the Atlas Stones for Strongest Man competitions.

Although a modern misunderstanding (he was actually punished by holding up the sky not the earth), I like the image as it stands for my own vagabonding around the globe.

Amen. Irony?

Possibly, but I don't think he was hoping to impose his will on the gods, just stop theirs being imposed on the Titans. There's a difference, right?

Oh sorry. I didn't give enough context. The iron was just that we both have avatars representing the same thing for the same reason. I guess that is what the theater folk call "irony of situation", b/c I knew what I meant and didn't at all let you know! I didn't want to - you know- impose my will.

Mine's part of a motivational poster I made for myself when I broke up with my girlfriend of five years, moved out of our apartment (still paid rent), and started my quest for self improvement in all arenas.

I took my university ID card, made a silhouette, and added some words to remind me of what I should do every day to achieve my goals. The title's a play on the name of an album (The Shape of Punk to Come by Refused) that my current girlfriend sent me during the tough time.

Mine is a photonegative of Mondrian's Composition A:

I use Composition A as an avatar elsewhere. The only difference is that lifting makes me feel black and blue.
