I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I have to post this quote from Powerlifting Basics: Texas Style by Paul Kelso:

"This mutt was a purebred lunch hound, who had adopted us and dropped by to help us with dinner whenever he could. He had the body of a labrador and the legs of a dachshund. Lope had named him Squatlo."

This:

It's a Czechoslovakian wolfdog. They're not an easy breed to keep, but I think they're beautiful, and their wolflike features still make them look menacing. It's similar to the Saarloos wolfdog but to me it looks a little more wolflike.

I've got a border collie. Cleverest breed, so very very easy to train. They do however get very bored, and like to keep active. Mine will drop a tennis ball down the stairs and take it back up to keep itself amused. Never grew as big as i wanted though.

I'd love a saint bernard or english mastiff, i mean seriously, they can both weigh in at 200lbs. I think the largest ever mastiff weighed 350 odd lbs. That is manly.

Dogs are a lot like trucks. I see a lot of men who lack in self confidence driving very large trucks. It's the same thing when I see some pathetic guy bring his boxer, bull dog, or rottweiler to the dog park. It seems that guys want a dog that is tough so their image will also appear to be tough. I can see right through it. I'm not saying to get a fu-fu dog dog and paint it's nails.
I have a border collie. They are one of the smartest dogs breeds and mine is no exception.
A dog should suit it's owners lifestyle. A busy person should not have a dog that needs a lot of excersize, because the dog will not get the excersize it needs. I have wanted to get a basset hound because they are very lazy. Then I wont need to take it to the park all the time. I just don't have the patients to deal with dogs that are not smart.

Sorry mack but your own logic contradicts itself.
You want a Basset hound because its lazy and doesn't need to be taken to the park (wrong: all dogs need outside mental stimulation. Bassetts are scent-hounds and love new things to explore) yet you have a very high energy breed ?
But'll you'll critisize a responsible owner with a rottweiller etc who does take his dog to the park?
Next time, walk up to the guy in the park with the rottweiller, tell him you can see right thru him and that he's pathetic.

I had a boxer - he was the best dog ever. He was also the friendliest. It was nothing to do with lacking self-confidence. Judging people for owning 'tough' dogs is just as bad as judging them for owning non-tough dogs. Treat the dog well, that's all that matters.

possible solution:
1. walk up to the guy
2. throw some salami on the ground
3. then, and only then, get into his face
