I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I liked Indiana Jones, but I think that was the eye candy
and I saw Sex and the City, which I bet is unique in most of this forum. . .
mostly lately I've been watching classics, like my friends and I just watched A Streetcar Named Desire and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (we were trying to decide whether Marlon Brando or Paul Newman is hotter. I'm on the Paul Newman side)

I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing the new Batman movie though. The first one was hella good, so this one should be better, I mean, it has Heath Ledger (who was such a fox. *sigh* hella sad.)

I saw trailer for the hulk when going to indiana jones. 1) didn't know there was another hulk being made 2) I was surprised to see edward norton in it, not his style of movies.

Myeah it looks cool indeed.

Anyone saw "wanted"? Looks like a matrix remake.

Recently saw "I am Legend". Was surprised to see Will Smith in what was essentially a zombie movie. Didn't think that was up his alley. Still enjoyable watch. For those who have seen "Into the Wild"(i haven't), i have read the book on which it is based by Jon Krakauer, and have to say what a fascinating read. In my experience any movie that is based on a book, the book is usually better. Good example being The Lord of the Rings.

part of the new Batman film, was recorded up the road at battasy (not spelt right) power station, they set off a huge explosion, which sent a huge flame into the sky. the police got loads of calls, because everyone thought it was a terror attack. was a funny read in the paper.

last thing i saw was, indiana 4, i liked it, all though it was abit far fetched. i saw that film with russel brand too, that film was funny. i am legend was good. this is england, again, love that film. the end half of 'six degrees of seperation' was confusing only seeing the half i saw. i even watched the butterfly affect film a little while ago, which i liked.

this week all i have watched is friends, series 1-10 in a week, beat that. am back on series 1 now lol.

I don't really bother with movies or TV anymore but the one movie I have watched recently is Once Were Warriors. I found it on YouTube and it's still a great movie, despite being 14 years old. I first saw it about 10 years ago, long before I moved to this country.

It's in 10 parts, starting here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GCHWzsi ... re=related

This shows some of the highlights:

On a seperate note, was in Wellington the other day and as I was walking to the train station I noticed I huge mound of rubble about 3 stories high in front of this old building. Beside it was a scrapped car and an old, dilapidated boat was on top. At first I thought a building had partially collapsed (but what was the boat and car doing there?). As I got closer it turns out it was a film crew and they were just starting to cleanup.

Watched Children of Men and Ratatouille back to back (both for the first time) last week. Completely different movies, but they were both amazing. Children of Men made me cry like a schoolgirl, and Ratatouille brought my spirits back up (and up, and up). Loved them both, would gladly have paid to watch them on the big screen.

Being a film-lover and film-maker I used to watch a lot of movies, time ago I was really into art-intellectual films. Recently I'm watching more "light", fun movies, I think out of laziness, or maybe I just needed a break.

Lately I've seen:

Indy4: As a kid I watched the first three movies hundreds of times. So I had to see it. Not so bad, but some major weak moments. In this kind of film, live action is still better of cgi

Iron Man: Fun. I'm not a superheroes/comics fan. Basically I went to watch this just because of the Iron Man song from Black Sabbath...

Into the wild: Didn't like it that much. Liked the real story/idea behind that, leaving everything, going on a trip alone and so, but it seemed that the film didn't "dig" enough under the surface, not showing any growth in the character and portraiting him as an irritating wise-guy. Two hours + of nice postcards (well, the scenarios were impessive).

Glory to the director - T.Kitano: his previous one (Takeshis) was a masterpiece. The good thing about this is that only he has the courage of making an ugly movie on purpose.

I plan to rewatch Oldboy. That was insane.

Holy Jesus I hate that movie. I have a pretty strong stomach, but when the dude is cutting off his tongue, that shit is just too gross. I dig surgery, but masochism? Not for me.

:D LOL, yeah, very disturbing. A thing I like in movies is when they dare to show unusual stuff, that's quite difficult, everything is already seen on screen today. The risk is of course overdoing it.

Seen "Crank" the other day. fun action movie.
