I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I tend to listen to Zeppelin IV a lot. After that, maybe CCR.

Anything to block out the gym noise that gets me moving, basically.

I'm still not sure if I like listening to music or not while I'm lifting. I also really enjoy just focusing, trying to concentrate on my body.

BUT, when I do, it's heavy.

Meshuggah, Arch Enemy, Killswitch Engage.

Usually Meshuggah, they just have brutal beats with both the drums and guitars. Not a lot of singing, so the music can just help drive me.

Lol, i like how theres a nice repetition of: Tool, SOAD, RATM, NIN, and Mettalica. I must have seen those 5 bands 5 times... woot a 5x5 joke!

But there all sik, Other great metal mentionables

Audioslave - Be yourself - great tune pre lift to remind me i'm not a bodybuilder when i do my lifts so i steer clear from those bicep curls in front of the mirror.

now to harder stuff for all you metalheads:

Coal Chamber - Big truck, Loco
Deftones - Engine 9, My own summer, 7 words so sick for big lift
Disturbed - Indestrucible, down with the sickness,
Drowning Pool - Bodies
Godsmack - Awake, I stand Alone
Hatebreed - I will be heard, Live for this, destroy everything
Kittie - Spit, BracKish
Korn - Fagget , Blind, BBk
Linkin Park - en the end
Mettalica - Master of Puppets
Mudvayne - Dull Boy
NIN - perfect drug, piggy, march of the pigs,
Papa Roach - Thrown Away,Forever, Last Resort
PAntera - Walk (you talking to me!)
RATM - Fistful of Steel (Duh), Tire Me (always good near last set)
Slipknot - Duality, Wait And Bleed, Before i Forget
SOAD - BYOB, Shame, F*** the System, Science,
Static X - Cannibal, Push it, Black and White, BLed for days,
Taproot - Again and Again, dreams
Tool - jambi

All those bands are those are just some favs.

Cant wait to add some of the tunes i read here to add to my mp3 player.

It's either Rocky from all 18 movies :) or the best of Van Halen. But during the winter months, I have my cannon heater blowing and can't hear much else. Not complaining though. The constant roar and heat causes me to block everything else out and puts me in a zone.
That's why I love Rocky music and movies so much - because in a way we are all that guy trying to do the impossible.
