I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I dunno i don't worry about it so much...

I guess energy drinks? I probably drink 2 of em a day.

But...I'm not overweight. (im actually 3 kilos off my ideal weight) and my %bf is a little higher than i want it to be, but whatever, you've got to live.

i find training an hour and a bit 6 days a week is much more enjoyable than having to say "i wont eat that chicken katsu today or drink any energy drinks blah blah"

I suck at dieting.

So, this past weekend ruined me with not having sweets/chocolate.. My life is about to turn hectic here as I am going to be moving (to a place where I will have more funds for eating clean) but hectic none the less.... On the plus side, it is a new week and it seems nice weather is on the agenda so far so maybe I won't have as much of an issue skipping the sweets... And seeing as how today is pay day, I may head to the grocery store on my lunch break and grab some fruits to keep at work instead of running to the gas station for a sugary snack..

So far this week I have accomplished not having as many sugary/chocolaty snacks as I normally would and I feel great... even have cut back on coffee... I was at the local wal-mart and found the one chocolate snack I used when losing weight.. The Hershey's Sticks... I am happy... I can have my occasional sweet fix and it won't be detrimental.

Am I the only one eating McDonalds Quaterpounders with cheese 2-3 times a week?

In my [very lame] defence, I do swap the coke for water and dont eat the fries.

Other than that, I have an ok diet (apart from the "occasional" pizza!)

Here, here... I find it much easier to go and burn some calories than to stop putting them in the first place!

Congrats on the success. Although I'm not sure how you can eat Hersheys. I've never found their chocolate very good. I prefer Dove or Ghiradelli. I've also discovered 71% dark is the best.

For the past week and a half I've been working on portion control and absolutely no binge eating. Once I'm not hungry anymore I stop eating. I haven't been too strict on what I eat aside from not eating grains but that is for digestive issues not diet issues. I got on the scale this morning and my weight is down a few pounds but more importantly than that I feel better and am more in control of what and how much goes in my mouth.

The self control feels so much better than anything the scale could say.. when our relationship with food is a loving/nurturing one, It's a great feeling. Just being able to take care of yourself and not feel bad about what your eating.. It seems so simple, but it just isn't sometimes, you know?

Once again it comes down to the mental game. I went to my in laws today for lunch. My mother in law is notorious for have cookies, quick breads, candy etc around her house. It's like navigating a field of land mines. So I prepared myself to eat healthy and brought a few small squares of extra dark chocolate with me so I wouldn't be tempted by all the junk. I ate 6 oz of grilled burger (no bun), cantaloupe and carrot sticks. I was so proud of myself for passing up the junk food. It's the first time I've walked out of her house still in control.
