I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I really love military pressing more than any other type of lift. I do sort of powerclean-ish the bar though and that's pretty fun as well, but there's nothing like pressing alot of weight over your head to make you you feel strong :D

Squats are tops for me. I used to love DLing (I still do). I got the hang of DLing before squatting, and that's probably why I liked DLs more initially. I avoided squats until one day I found this forum and Starting Strength. When I saw how much my body responded to correctly done squats, I never looked back. I still enjoy DLing (tough to beat that feeling of locking out), but the full body benefits and mental experience that is a result of a squat is more rewarding, imho. :D

It's been a while since I posted this poll and I'm pretty sure many people haven't voted but it seems that deadlifts are most peoples favourite lift in this forum followed by squats, which I must admit came as a shock to me as I thought squats would take the lead but it seems many people like myself love lifting heavy weights of the floor. Also I know squats and deadlifts as opposed to the bench press are more of a favourite for people who strength train but I expected the bench to be more popular. It also seems we like lifting heavy weights over our heads more than pressing them off our chest.
So yeah very interesting so far and I hope more people vote so we can get a general idea of what peoples favourite lifts are in this forum.
I TO DEADLIFT if the weight isn't too heavy

Yeah - it is interesting. I think if I did the same poll in my gym I'd have to have the categories of:

Bicep curl
Seated bicep curl
Hammer curl
Preacher curl
Other curl

The one I'm most amazed about here is the overhead press - it's not anywhere on my lits of favourites!!!
2010 Goals:
Lose the Gut - 6 pack by 11/4/10 - it's a bet with the missus
100kgs clean and jerk by 24/3/10
80kgs snatch by 30/06/10
Be more dedicated

OHP for me, I love the feeling in my muscles when doing this lift. Cleaning the bar to my shoulders at the start of each set is fun too. I look forward to doing it so it's my first lift on a Monday morning. I can OHP nearly as much as I can bench!

Just to go against the grain, I hate deadlifts, mainly because I feel i'm not doing them properly. I don't like squats either because they're difficult. I do both though with full intensity.

I suspect a main reason why DLs is a fave is because you lift much more. I admit, it makes me feel macho.

haha Today I was thinking I should have added bicep curls just for a laugh to see if anyone would have voted for them. Of course whoever would have voted for them would have been hunted down and tortured by the stronglifts mob.

Deadlift and OHP - extremely hard to call as I see these two as two true tests of ones physical strength; strict OHP is just badass. However deadlift there is something just fucking primal and simple; dip, grip and rip. Gonna go with OHP due to the difficultly in progressing in it and the number of time it has humbled me.

Just like the majority, I´m a Deadlift guy! Hoisting up heavy iron from the floor is just about the greatest thing since the invention of the barbell.
