I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

What's your favourite lift?

Postby jpez on Sun Oct 25, 2009 7:34 am

I think it would be interesting to see which lift everyone enjoys doing the most.

I've allowed it so that you can change your vote if you want in the future.

Mine would have to be the Deadlift. For some reason I love pulling heavy weights off the floor.
I TO DEADLIFT if the weight isn't too heavy

Deadlifts, although I'm too weak to try olympic lifts yet. I like the idea of picking heavy weights off the ground and pulling it back.

Deadlift
Rere's training log II
The squat, press, deadlift, and bench press have been used for decades by the strongest athletes on the planet. There is good reason for that. Any program that doesn’t use them is inferior to one that does.

Deadlift for me as well. It's always been my favourite lift.
Allthough OHP has been running it close since I've been doing SL.

Very very close between deadlift and overhead press.
My vote goes to the deadlift for now. Simply due to the exhaustion and the fact that it is the lift that will allow me to shift the most weight.

I voted OHP,it's been a favorite of mine for a long time. Why? Cause it is the hardest to gain on so it becomes the most rewarding when i get a pr.

OHP. So satisfying to lift a weight over your head. I'm terrible at it though.

Clean & Jerk. No better way of getting a heavy weight from the floor to over head height. I would also consider the muscle up a good challenger as I think of it as the upper body squat.
