    I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. :lol: But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Good stuff Lathiel. I started listening to the peaceful warrior audiobook once, but got bored with it. Need to get the book one day. Never heared of "war & peace" before, 1400pages. I've added anthem/war & peace to wish list.

Things I'm reading right now
* Meditations - Marcus Aurelius (george long's translation, the English is difficult, will try again some more, while getting hay's translation)
* Man's search for meaning - Viktor E. Frankl
* Power of Now - Eeckart Tolle (re-read)
* Awareness - Anthony de Melo (re-read)
* The field - lynne mctaggert (audiobook)
* The God Code - gregg braden (audiobook)

Finished egoscue method and reading and re-reading chapters of starting strength as well as anything fat loss/weight loss/stregth training/nutrition related I can find on the internet. To avoid becoming a bit of a strength training etc reading nerd, I will be returning to non-strength training reading next week.

Rich dad, poor dad is not really my favorite book, it's a pretty "dumb" book when you think about it, but when I read it, it was eye-opening. Right now I'd recommend the 4 hour work week over rich dad poor dad, althought rich dad compares self-employment vs. employment pretty good.

Currently reading "The Penguin History of the USA" by Hugh Brogan. I'm up to the founding of Plymouth. I read it before turning in for the night, but thanks to early rising and strength training, I usually only get a few pages in before nodding off.

Can't stand Robert Kiyosaki. I'll admit that he can inspire people to break free of perceived limits and take some risk, but he sneers at what is pretty fundamental financial common sense. Also, a lot of the claims he makes in his books about his own career and investments are inflated or downright fictional.

i can agree with you mjh. but when you say financial common sense you can't expect people to know this. i spend a lot of time around people i would consider genius' when it comes to science, physics, engineering, politics and other things you can learn from a textbook. but once you throw real life obstacles at these dudes a lot of them don't have the common sense to think outside the box. so when you get back to kiyosaki its almost like he is throwing out the street smarts to the reader who probably only has book smarts. i see things i agree and disagree about his ideas but to some people might all be new to them.

what is "The Penguin History of the USA" about? thats a very interesting title.

Penguin as in the publishing company. So, a survey history of the US, published by Penguin. Don't think I'd be likely to pick up a history of American penguins. But you never know...
