I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Dont say that man, I think when you're short it's easier for you to look bigger and stronger than a normal tall guy...

Im short too. Dont worry about it. Keep strength training and learn a martial art.

Squat: 112kg

Interesting bit of fun

I particularly liked ricepower's observation:

4x BW deadlift? is that even humanly possibile?

It is much more possible than achieving somebody elses body.

In fact a fellow indoor rowing friend of mine, Al Hallberg, must have got pretty close to 4xBW way back in 1983 when he competed in TWSM competition. Al would have been about 27 then, a bit over 6' tall and I'm guessing around 260 - 270lb. I'm sure with the improvements in nutrition and training, not to mention the huge increase in anabolic steroid use amongst today's strength athletes, 4xBW certainly will have been done.

As for me, I'd be happy to get back to looking something like I did five years ago, but with just a little more weight on around the shoulders and arms. Me, November 2004. Anyone know where I could borrow a time machine  Hmmm ... looking back at that picture I think a little more metcon to balance up the 5X5 training may be in order.

Everyone should just see the picture of Konstantin Konstantinov which is in the last post on page 2 of the thread about him in the links & videos board (I'd show it here but I don't know how to do that). I actually think his physique is bigger/better/stronger than Lesnar's.

most of these UFC fighters have massive "yokes" (upper traps) and neck muscles the width of their entire heads. is it just OHP and deadlifts for the yoke, and neck bridges for the neck, and that should do it? would love to have those!

and yes my neck has gotten bigger on SL but its still not like these guys...

Those UFC fighters got no LEGS though. At least most of them.

And I'm not on SL at the moment, but I want to have a bigger back and yes, a powerful yoke. Power cleans, retarded-heavy shrugs, and rack pulls will expedite the yoke building process.

That's a very lousy comment that MMA fighters have no legs.
Cro Cop was the beast.

Anyway, when I was younger I wanted to look like Vin Diesel... But now I know I can look better. So don't try to look like someone else. Try to lift like someone else, or more.

I didn't say all, just some are deficient...not that it much matters for some of them.

As for this whole physique thing. I would like to look like a more muscular me. Basically whatever I look like with a 4xBW deadlift or when able to do powercleans in excess of 1.5xBW - I would be chuffed with that.

I have a similar height/build to that Ivan stoitsov and reckon if I persevered with lifting for at least ten years I may look similar by the end but with less visible abs.

hahaha goddamn, that's a classic, gonna cop that movie right away!

Tall guys can get strong and have more muscles , short guys can not grow tall . So its better to be tall .

I'm sure that won't be a problem Kali. You've got a few years to work on it
