I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

For those in the US. Sam's Club has the Powerline PPR200X for $257.86 (+tax and delivery). You can't pick this up in store, delivery only.

My total (shipped to NJ) was approx. $320

Of course, that does require membership to Sam's Club, but if you have one (or know someone who does). Bingo.

Canada:
shoes - Power Firm - www.weightliftingshoes.ca - they now carry Do-Wins and the customer service is outstanding. Send a tracing of your feet to Joe and he'll make a recommendation on size for you. $125 all in and shipped anywhere in Canada, best price I could find.

For Finland:

Wrange, http://www.wrange.fi. I bought the Body-solid power rack and is very satisfied with it. Also bar and plates. Sometimes very good offers.

Vuorpiex, http://www.vuoripex.fi. I bought a nice Z-bar (Gymtec 415) at an affordable price.

These places are probably not for hard-core guys, but for me the equipmet has worked quite well. I'm not sure about their fitness stations, but the simple iron/steel gadgets are totally OK.

Australia
http://www.gymandfitness.com.au
http://www.gymdirect.com.au

Both websites have a very wide range of gym equipment, including power & squat racks, squat stands, benches, barbells and weights. I'm not sure if the prices are expensive or not but you can they have package deals for power racks, benches, barbells & weights for as low as $1000.

People on a budget or just shopping smart try used at Craigslist, http://www.craigslist.com

Off craigslist I bought my Olympic style bench (the uprights extend nicely to help with squating), a 6' non-oly spin-lock bar and 113KG -250lbs metal weights for $240 Canadian. This added to my current 54KG 120lbs and 7' non-oly spin-lock bar.

Great links! I just want to add be persistent in your local market too. I put "feelers" out ALL OVER the place. I told EVERYONE I know in my town and where I work what I was looking for as far as
home gym equipment and after a few weeks I was able to get barbells and several weight plates real cheap.

I went/go to a local Sports center every week to just look around and get a feel for prices etc (I live in Missouri, USA) . I got to know the workers etc. whenever there was something they were going to sell 'as is' off the floor they'd call me immediately. I got a great deal on a rack and bench that way.
