I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Will's Log

Postby cluebird on Wed Aug 20, 2008 9:31 pm

I am fourteen years old, and a competitive judoka, as well as 400m sprinter.
I began weight training with some unorganized dumbbell training that has been intermittent for about a year. I just started Stronglifts 5X5 today and went for my first barbell workout this morning.

Stats:
5'8"
132 lbs.

Squat 5X5
45 lbs. (bar-only)
Seemed light, but want to work on my form so as not to exacerbate an already tight lower back and runner's knee issues
Bench Press 5X5
55 lbs.
Have done more weight with dumbbells in the past, but wanted to work on form.
Bent rows 5X5
65 lbs.
Again, could probably use more weight but wanted to make sure the exercise was being performed correctly.
Dips
5X1
4X1
1X1
Noticed shoulders were slouching a bit on these, any pointers?

Will be continuing the Stronglifts Program, but may not be posting after every workout.
Wish me luck!

Good luck with the program mate. I've been on it for 2 weeks now. Same with you, starting really light and going to work my way up slowly. You're really young so just stick with it and progress through it slowly and you will be insanely strong for your age before you know it.
