I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Hi Guys, I am Abhi from India.
Doing my MBA from a premier Bschool in India(hence hard pressed for time). Was suggested this site by one of my seniors - it's has started gaining a fan following in this part of the world.
My stats are

  • Age -26

  • Ht - 5'7''

  • Wt - 64

  • Skinny guy with a little fat on the tummy

I had kidney disease in childhood. Due to that I have prehypertensive bp. bp lies around the 130/90 range.
Also have a weak back and had been adviced against lifting heavy weights(even my luggage for that matter :( .) H
ave started workout recently(since 1st Jan).Have been doing Yogic breathing exercises everday(keeps bp in check). Haven't had any problem sincelast 3 weeks but kind of apprehensive of doing heavy weights. I am really confused abt the kind of training and nutrition(heard supplements like cretaine raise bp)I should do. Can I get any guidance in this regard?

Welcome Abhi.
Weak back is usually bad posture/dormant glutes/weak abs.
Check this post stronglifts.com/lordosis-why-it-causes-lower-back-pain-how-to-fix-it/ & the egoscue method

Best way to start out is to download StrongLifts 5x5 eBook, it will answer most of your questions.

Hey Abhi - Welcome to you
The Egoscue Method as reccomended by Mehdi is an excellent resource and I highly reccomended you look into it.
On your side of the world I beleive that the Bitter Melon is used for Blood related disorders, which would more than likely help your BP as well. Might also want to look into Omega 3 as a supplement. Any meditation for the Blood Pressure would be helpful as well , particularly the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra.
Trust me you can do this - dont let them bring you down telling you what you can and cant do - you can try and you will know better than they do.
Think about it - if you arent believing that you are sick and need them to help you control your BP etc how can they make money off of you. They need you to be sick not well - otherwise they just dont make money off of you.
Take control of your own destiny, start by working on your posture, and lower back pain - do some research into strength training by using the EBook and by using this forum, strength training will do wonders for your health and well being.
Best Regards to you
