I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

    Today's workout:
    - Box squat: 5x5 170lbs - now, this is crazy.. I can't believe I'm actually doing 5x5 with 170lbs on my back. Dang!!
    - Overhead: 4/4/3/3/4 75lbs - hmm.. I thought to push a bit more at the last set. I did. I think I could have made 5/5/4/4/4 if I pushed. But squat had me wasted..
    - Deadlift: 1x5 205lbs -Yes, made it!!!
    - Pullup: 1x3 - very poor attempt to descend.. can't seem to go anywhere
    - Prone b: 3x30sec one legged
    - Cardio: 45min elliptical

Boy oh boy... new PRs everywhere. I cannot, absolutely cannot believe I'm doing 5x5 with every single new weights. I just can't. Woah. It felt good though. Sure felt good. 8)

So after the disastrous weekend, I started Monday off to a rather good start. But I went to the ball game and.... had the dog and the beer...... Gosh!!!! I am so not disciplined. But how can anyone resist hot dog and beer at the ball park? That's like wearing a suit at the beach!! Sigh.. I really attempted everything. I had greek yogurt and nuts and pineapples on the way to the ball park in the car. And I had my stomach full. And I *still* couldn't resist the temptation. So I had them. ........ But that's okay. Once I"m in the office, I have a very high chance of eating clean. So.

Besides, I did go to the gym and posted my PRs. So.

Sigh.. Still though. It always amazes me how people do not get tempted over those kinds of stuff. Foods. Argh.

But! My workout was extremely solid. I was not very tired in the end. And throughout the day, I had a lot of energy. I think extra rest day made a lot of difference. My body was really rested up and when I hit it, it responded very well. So I was glad about that.

Hope tomorrow will be a winning day on a diet!

Hiya Zizzy!

OMG 170 pound box squats! You must have legs of steel!

That is so killer!

Congratulations on the 75 pound OHP! I am still working on that PR.

With the intensity you put into your workouts, your body and mind deserve the hot dog and beer treat as a reward! :D

Greek yogurt...yummmmmm

Haha thanks! I am on a super clean diet today and so far so good. No workout today so there shouldn't be no "reward" today!

    Workout
    - Box squat: 3/3/3/2/2 175lbs - This is the first time I've failed to complete 5x5. I tried to get up but had to sit down and roll the bar. I guess I try the same weight next time?
    - Bench : 5/4/4/3/3 95lbs - felt tough. But slowly improving. This is the second time on the same weight. So I'm expecting to complete 5x5 by next try.
    - Inverse row: 12/8/6
    - Pushup: 5/3/1 - exhausted by here..
    - Reverse C: 3x12
    - Cardio: 45min. elliptical

I had a bit of dizziness today. I was okay until I hit the bench. As soon as I lay down on the bench, my head started to spin. But the number didn't suffer. It progressed as expected on the bench. But squat. Oh man.. So tough. I went, 'uh-oh' as soon as I lift the bar up the rack. Crazy. I wonder how people ever lift anything more than their BW!!!

My body isn't really feeling good today. I'm not sure what's going on. But I'll see tomorrow how my body responds. It sure is sore right now.

Keeping up with the diet. I chose chicken salad over burgers and fries at the lunch with the co-workers. Yay!!!!

Nice work on the squats - even though it felt heavy, you didn't log a 0 on any set, so that's saying something. I bet you get at least a few 5s the next go at 175. I didn't even notice last time you're doing that much cardio at the end ... brutal.

@muddy: Thanks. It was really hard though. And yeah, the cardio is brutal. I have to constantly remind myself that after this, I do not have to do it for 2 days. I think its more of a mental activity than a physical activity. Losing fat is so hard..

Hey Zizzy,

175 on the squats is pretty amazing. I'm hoping I'll get there one day! Like Muddy said, you got reps with every set so you'll get it. It's just a matter of time for you, you've got in in you. Just stay after it and don't let the BW thing get in your head.

Good job on skipping the Burger and Fries. I know what you mean about losing fat...it stinks that it's soooo much easier to put on than to take off. Stick with the good eating through the weekend and that will roll into the next week and before you know it its become a habit. You work too hard and are to strong not to do it!

Thanks Sandi.

And I totally agree with you about losing fat. Its just so hard to stay clean during the weekend, especially. But I know I'm getting there. Its been a slow and painful process to clean up the diet. But I know it'll become a habit and that I'll enjoy it once it sticks with me.

I'm clean now. I'm keeping my diet all the way down. Extreme clean eating. I'm sick of junk food now. I'll stay clean until my body calls out the name of junk again. The calorie intake is very low but I'm eating every 3 hours so I should be okay.

I finally get it now. Diet matters more than anything in losing fat. I could try so hard and so bad at the gym, but if I don't get the diet right, it won't matter at all. So I'll see how everything goes. I have the momentum so I should be able to tell the differences pretty soon. Not expecting the end result to be right away, of course.

Death to the Fatness!!!!!

Okay. I said that too early.

I was going so well 'til dinner. And boom. I had this soup with rice and pork. So bad.

I really wanted it going. Man... I wanted it clean for the remainder of the week. Darn!!!!!

Why can't I resist food? This is so bad........
