I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

What's the matter with some rice and pork?
It's not like you ate a pint of Ben & Jerrys. :D

Doesn't sound like much of a slip to me.

I had a huge leg cramp at night. I planned to sleep 'til whenever today but that freakin leg cramp woke me up.

So I did some research and apparently, its called "Nocturnal Leg Cramp" that almost always happens at the calf. But I've never had this kind of problem before I overstretched my leg the other day by putting the squat weight to the rack. I really hate it. Apparently, dehydration and lack of calcium is the popular cause for it. I'm not sure if this has to do with my diet or training. I don't think it thas anything to do with training. Perhaps I need to tennis ball my calf. I'm not sure.

Not a great start of the long weekend. But I'll do my diet. I'll keep the spirits high. I've been doing amazing things for the last 2 months and I'm not going to let it go nowhere by beating myself up on the little stuff, like rice and pork at night.

Got a OH and DL training coming up today. Hopefully my sore calf will stand up for it.

I asked Mouse if we (the ladies) could start some other competitions amongst ourselves, somewhat similar to what the guys have going on. He said sure, come up with some ideas. I thought it might help to keep us motivated and moving on with some of our particular lifts in addition to the overall strongest competition. What are your thoughts? Would you be interested in jumping in the fray if we started something else? Any ideas of stuff we could do?

I'll send this same post to everyone already in the strongest competition but if you know of any other ladies that might be interested please ask them if they want to get in the mix too. The more the merrier!

I'm going to be away hiking for the next couple of weeks (yipee!) so if you're interested and you have some ideas please post them on my log over the next couple of weeks and then I'll put them together and send them on to Mouse for his thoughts when I get back.

For any of you guys who might come across this post, your ideas for us are welcome too.

Thanks

I was going so well 'til dinner. And boom. I had this soup with rice and pork. So bad.

I really wanted it going. Man... I wanted it clean for the remainder of the week. Darn!!!!!

Why can't I resist food? This is so bad........

I think that the body is smarter than our thought process. When we crave something really bad, it is something the body needs to repair a "problem" rebuilding muscle for example.

Let us know if that Rice and Pork soup helped or hurt your next workout. You might be happy to find it made you stronger. :D

@Sandi: Sure Sandi. I'll think about it and let you know. I'm sure a lot of ideas are floating out there!

@Barry: my "Rice and Pork" incident made me go for the workout harder and harder. And it actually made me to go absolutely clean today. More below.. :)

    Workout
    - Box squat: 5/5/4/3/3 175lbs -- Felt much better than before. I felt I could go for 5x5 but on 3rd set, I couldn't stand up at the last rep. But lots of effort. My sore calf didn't bother at all.
    - Overhead: 5/5/4/4/4 75lbs -- darn it.. I thought I could make 5x5 here again. But I guess I'd try one more time next time.
    - Deadlift: 1x3 215lbs -- Solid. But squat got my legs wasted.Felt very very good though.
    - Pullup: 3 times descend -- trying..
    - Prone B: 3x30sec 1 legged
    - Cardio: 45 min elliptical

Awesome workout. Awesome. This is how every workout should feel.

I had plenty of time today. Nearly empty gym. Had everything to myself. Took plenty of rest between the sets.

And diet. Nearly perfect diet today as well. I had sore calf but that didn't really bother SL at all. I was surprised. New PR on the deadlift. Yay! BTW, this guy at the gym helped me putting the weights into the bar for the DL. Just his gesture. Didn't ask for help or anything. And he was like, "Is this for you?" So I said yes. Then he was like, "Whoa!" with the face(nice one). Which made me feel pretty good.

That is cool about the comment! That is a lot of weight to be pulling up from the ground. Next step is two plates. That will get you some attention for sure!

I'm not doing a very good job with my diet.. Weekend is a killer. Sigh... But I've learned that a bad weekend doesn't really kill all of my efforts. At all. I think if there's only one thing that I've gained out of during 2-month of SL is to look at the big picture. What matters is what you do most of the time. Not one mistake here and one mistake there. So I've freed myself from that thought. That guilty feeling that so dominates you that it really brings you down. Really down.

So tomorrow, I'm going back to clean diet. Once again. I know I will give in once inawhile. But that's okay. 90% of the time I'm eating clean. And I give 100% of my effort in the gym. So that's what it will matter.

Oh, and one noticeable progress. I started the program @ 163lbs. It spiked to 167lbs right after 1st week. Of course, all the muscle gains and such. And it steadily dropped and I was consistently hitting 165-166lbs after about 4 weeks. Now I'm consistently hitting 164lbs. While I don't put much emphasis on the weight scale numbers, I'm glad t know that its showing. At least. I'd be thrilled on the day I see 159lbs on the scale.

That change in perspective will help you greatly. I find being flexible and making slow changes has worked better for me. The more rigid I am in my dieting the more I fail.

Congrats on your progress. It's a damn good feeling!
