Maybe you’re deeply skeptical when it comes to training because you’ve seen it all before and know that most is pure, unfounded hype. To prove you that the StrongLifts 5×5 program isn’t hyperbole, but that it can truly help you achieve spectacular strength and muscle gains, here are some of the success stories posted on the StrongLifts Facebook Fan page during the past weeks…
When I first started SL5x5, I really had FAITH that it would work. It just sounded clear and simple, and simple things are often the best. Today, exactly 12 weeks later, I don’t just have faith, I KNOW it works. My body – and mind – have transformed heavily during this short time. I have lifted weights for only about 2 months before starting 5×5. To all of the guys who have just started this awesome program: You are doing good to yourself. It REALLY works.
Stats of today (end of week 12)
- Squat – 105 kg (115 was the best 5×5, deloaded to improve on form a bit)
- Deadlift – 125 kg
- OHP – 47,5 kg
- Rows – 70 kg
- Bench press – 72,5 kg
And I have my thanks to Mehdi, and all the guys here on FB for 24/7 support! People here are great, always willing to help, every question gets answered, and we all learn from each others. Lift heavy!
Lucas Frejlak from Toronto, Canada can finally do more than 2 chin-ups, after only 1 month of StrongLifts 5×5…
Mehdi, I am so happy that I found your website. I’ve on SL 5X5 for a month now and I love it. I had extra energy left in me yesterday so I decided to do some chin ups and dips at the end of my training, I was able to do 8 chin ups, without kipping, for the first time in my life! I remember when I couldn’t to more than 2 with kipping. I feel better and Stronger everyday. Keep up the great work and once again, thanks for providing us with all the information and tips!
Failed on 200kg and 195kg deadlift tonight… disappointed. Threw down a 140kg squat though which makes up for it. Be back in two weeks after my holiday and Neil Porter’s op… Keep lifting chaps! It gets harder :)
Had another good workout – got my 125kg squats and then got another deadlift PR – 160kgs – although it was only just and took everything out of me! Got a “light” week while vaughan is away then on at least 1 week break after op depending on when stitches come out… After that back into it with a reasonable deload and start back at it again… I echo VJ – it gets harder and harder….
Adam Remboldt from USA gained 25lb in 4 months without turning into a fatto and could probably already Squat 300lb for a single if he wanted…
I have gained 25 lbs since starting the program, and weight 205 lbs at 6’2, up from 180 lbs in January. My waist is 32 inches. So it doesn’t feel like i’m significantly fat right now. Thanks for the motivation and encouragement!
Hike Aleksanyan from Perrysburg, Ohio gained more strength in 4 months of StrongLifts 5×5 than in his 1 year of training prior to starting this program. Great job, but Heineken is cow piss to us Belgians, try Duvel.
Ive been doing a push/pull routine including power cleans for over a year, but i’ve been doing stronglifts for about 4 months now. My gains have skyrocketed since. Finally hit 2x bw on squats today! Splurging with a heineken.
Mike Cotton from Peterborough, UK pulled 440lb…
Justin Decrescenzo from USA didn’t feel like going to the gym, went anyway, and is now part of the 100kg Squat club.
Two new milestones for me. Put two 45 plates on my squats (225lbs) and put a 45 plate on my rows and benches (135lbs) Squats feel a lot easier later in the day, even after work. It was crazy cause I wanted to go to bed so badly, but after I ate, went to the gym instead. I remember specifically at 85 lbs thinking to myself “How much more of this can I do?” cause it was so heavy. I love these little milestones.
Obviously, I paid them to post this… NOT. These guys are all on the StrongLifts Facebook Fan page, you can contact them yourself to check the authenticity of these gains. If you want similar results, check out the StrongLifts 5×5 guide to get started.
