The StrongLifts Facebook fanbase has almost quadrupled during the last 10 weeks. If you don’t belong to the StrongLifts Facebook Fan page yet, I urge you to join today by clicking here, so you will gain access to exclusive content not on this blog. Here are just some of the things you may have missed this week…
What Training Lessons Did You Learn This Year? Roy Peters (StrongLifts Member Rere) wrote: “I learnt to realise that one must squat regular and often in order to get as strong as possible. Learn to embrace the squat and it will bring one great rewards.” Seems like that and technique, consistency, simplicity, mobility and eating like a horse are the big lessons most guys learned this year. Are you paying attention to all of this right now? If not, looks like you should.
What Motivates You? Andre Johnson answered: “When I look back at older pictures of myself, I remember how “weak” I was. Could not bench 100lbs, couldn’t Squat or Deadlift half of my body weight. Sad really. I say to myself every time before I workout, I will NOT go back to being that guy.” Can’t agree more, I was a skinny 120lbs weakling who couldn’t do a single Push-up and lost armwrestling to a girl. 50lb weight gain and 400lb Squat later, I won’t go back either.
Training Partner: Best Friend OR Worst Nightmare? Why? I trained most of 2010 with a training partner and strongly believe it is an invaluable asset. The tricky part is finding a guy who gets it. As Bjarni Þór Einarsson wrote: “Depends on the motivation level of your partner. If he’s about as motivated or more motivated than you it can be a godsend but if he’s unmotivated it’s a nigthmare. I’ve had both, one whom got me started and really pushed me on and another that just sat there vacantly whenever i wasn’t harrasing him to do something.”
