I’m 20 years old, 1,70m and i’ve been skinny all my life, my father and brothers are ethiophian like so i had a really bad time gaining weight since i was a child, i never did any sport and i started gym on 1st November 2009.
I actually never felt that skinny but all my family kept saying that i was becoming more and more skinny so i entered the gym to reverse this (BW was 51kg). I started the normal gym workout, 15 reps and almost 2h of training, absurd stuff, i couldn’t even do 15 reps with a 20kg bar on bench press and my bicep curl was 5kg!
After 3 months of this training i registered on a website and showed my progress, then a guy told me about StrongLifts 5×5 so i gladly took the advice and tried it since 1 March 2010 with already 62kg and tried 3L of milk a day for a month and then just 1L till last week.
- Bodyweight: 51kg => 71kg in the morning
- Squat: 20kg => 105kg x 5 (1.5bw eheh)
- Deadlift: 20kg => 125×3
People now say that i’m better than before, girls say that i’m hotter, my shirts and jeans fit perfectly, it’s a whole other level, it’s like i’m a new person. Personally, i recommend StrongLifts 5×5 to everyone that is starting lifting weights or have really low marks.
Many gym buddies are amazed with my strength but most of them still don’t believe it. Well it’s your choice but if i was doing some stupid routine i wouldn’t be like this.
