Program Of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Mentor!
Reg Park was Arnold Schwarzenegger’s life-long mentor, 3x Mr Universe and first bodybuilder to Bench Press 500lb… BEFORE steroids even existed. Park’s success inspired the Governator to follow his training program… and this was NOT the isolation split routines muscle magazines claimed they used! Don’t take my word for it, listen to what Arnold admitted in his biography:
American magazines wrote about the split routine as if it were my secret: it became the big thing. Everybody thought that was how I’d grown as much as I had in such a short time ….. From the beginning, I was a believer in the basic movements, because that was Reg Park’s preference. I was doing heavy squats, heavy bench presses, and this provided some of the foundation work of my body, which has always made me appear strong. Certain bodybuilders lack that look. They have good bodies but they don’t appear powerful. The reason is inadequate foundation training. Reg Park had been a powerlifter; he had done squats with 600 pounds, bench presses with 500 pounds and dead lifts of over 700 pounds. I saw no reason why I shouldn’t continue in the same groove.

You see, Arnold started as a competitive powerlifter, winning twice between 1966 and 1968, before turning to bodybuilding and conquering his first Mr Olympia title in 1970. And what kind of exercises does every single Powerlifter do? Free weight, compounds – the basic movements Arnold and his mentor Reg Park used.
Look, the fact is, about 99% of all lifters (this includes you) spend their entire lives struggling in the gym. Most guys never discover a routine that will give them the constant, sustained gains they desire. That’s because any program that simply gives you isolation and machine exercises is horribly incomplete – it ignores the basic exercises and “X factor” that will cause you to gain strength and muscle.
You know, in your heart, this is true. You try a new routine – any new routine at all – and you will get maybe 6 weeks of results.
